God is able to bridge

Have you ever tried to cross from one side of a river to the other without a bridge? It takes longer and can be dangerous. Sometimes it is impassable.

How can our hearts reach to God when there is the chasm of sin? We can’t do it on own.

Only God is able to bridge the gap between His heart and ours.

Our hearts are the opposite of His: Hurt, Empty, Abject, Rebellious, and Tainted.

When we look at God’s heart, we see holiness.  His heart is Holy, Eternal, Awesome, Righteous and True.

How we connect with God when our hearts are so full of rebellion and sin?

God cares about our heart condition. God is able to transform our hearts.

God bridged the gap between His holy heart and our sinful hearts. He reached into history becoming one of us through the life of Jesus to be able to save us so that we might become new. He didn’t come to provide a self improvement program. He came to bring us back into relationship with HIm. Only God is able to reconnect our hearts with His.

“Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to interceded for them.”  Hebrews 7:25

What peace we can have when we believe God is able to save.

Here are more Bible verses showing that God is able:

He can do more than expected: “Now to God who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory…” Ephesians 3:20

He can help prevent missteps: “to God who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy.” Jude 24

He strengthens us: “Now to God who is able to establish you…”

Trust in the Lord. God is able to save.
