We all have a need for unconditional love.
After a rough day or an argument the need increases. People fail us. Situations frustrate us. The kids don’t cooperate.
At those times, we need to remember the one love that never fails–the unconditional love of God.
Here are some of the different aspects of God’s lovingkindness toward us.
It is everlasting, forever and ever.
It never runs out or runs short when we have a bad day.
I have loved you with an everlasting love, I have drawn you with lovingkindness. Jeremiah 31:3 NIV
It is sacrificial, giving to the point of death on the cross.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 NIV
It is inseparable, sticking with us when we fail.
We can’t run away from it.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8: 35, 38-39 NIV
It is expansive, beyond what we imagine.
And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:18 NIV
Even on a bad day, these verses of the Bible can uplift a weary spirit.
Our Father God reaches us with His unending unconditional love and grace.
All we have to do is open our hearts to receive Him.
