Snapshots of God’s grace in summer.
From watching our grandson for a week to having a vacation in the hills of Tennessee, these summer experiences and snapshots of God’s grace have refreshed my spirit.
Hiking in east Tennessee was fantastic! We viewed waterfalls from the top, the sides and the bottom. Standing at the foot of a waterfall was refreshing, feeling the mist and hearing the roar of the water crash over the cliff. We climbed over rocks to the base of Burgess Falls. This different perspective of the waterfall stirred worship for the majesty of God.
Another snapshot of God’s grace that remains in my mind is seeing our 16-month old grandson look out the second story window watching Grandpa mow the lawn. He stood there for some time with his toy car in hand, watching Grandpa go back and forth. He wanted some ‘Grandpa time,’ but had to wait until the mowing was done.
Is this a small glimpse of how God watches us while we work? We are busy doing our work, but God just wants us to spend time with Him.
The Lord is ready and waiting for us.
Look around to see the majesty of God. His fingerprints are everywhere. If you need refreshment, take some time in the Lord’s presence. He is waiting.
When we spend time with the Lord, He promises to refresh us.
Consider these verses for refreshment as snapshots of God’s grace:
- “I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint.” Jeremiah 31:25 NIV
- “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.” Isaiah 40:29 NIV
- “Repent and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.” Acts 3:19 NIV
May your spirit be refreshed in the Lord.
