The greatest life story, that of Jesus Christ, shaped the world and the Christian faith.
Other religious leaders died, were buried, and remain in their graves.
Jesus Christ is the only one who rose from the grave by the power of God.
Jesus–who was both human and divine–lived the greatest life story.
Romans 1:3-4 says of Jesus,
“who as to his human nature was a descendant of David, and who through the Spirit of holiness was declared with power to be the Son of God by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord.”
With the life story of Jesus and His resurrection, we gain blessings from heaven.
- The holy gift of forgiveness of sin is available.
The life story of Jesus completed the plan for our redemption.
Old Testament law demanded continual sacrifice for redemption. In the New Covenant, salvation is complete through the provision of the perfect sacrifice, Jesus. Sin has been atoned for; sacrifice no longer has to be made because God loved us so much that He provided the sacrifice.
“And these (sins) have been forgiven, there is no longer any sacrifice for sin. Hebrews 10: 18
The sin barrier that separated God and man was removed. We can approach Him through confession and repentance. We have restored relationship with God.
- We have the benefit of victory over death.
Before his journey to the cross, Jesus gave these words of hope from his life story, for us.
“I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.” John 11:25
On that Resurrection morning, the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid and yet filled with joy. Suddenly Jesus met them as they ran to tell the disciples. He stopped them in their tracks with the power of the Resurrection. Their response?
“They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him.” Matthew 28:9
Be in awe of Easter and the greatest life story of Jesus Christ.
