We all have a need for unconditional love, especially on bad days.
The hard days when people fail us, situations frustrate us, or an unexpected bill arrives. When the kids don’t cooperate when you need to go somewhere.
The list goes on and on…
At those tough times, we need to remember the one love that never fails—the unconditional love of God.
Here are four different aspects of God’s unending love toward us.
Unconditional love is sacrificial, giving to the point of death on the cross.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 NIV
It is everlasting, forever and ever.
It never runs out or runs short when we have a bad day.
I have loved you with an everlasting love, I have drawn you with lovingkindness. Jeremiah 31:3 NIV
God’s love stays with us every single hour.
We can’t run away from it when we want to hide from life.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8: 35, 38-39 NIV
Unconditional love goes beyond what we imagine.
And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:18 NIV
Even on a bad day, these verses of the Bible can comfort a weary spirit.
Our Father God reaches us with His unending unconditional love and grace.
All we have to do is open our hearts to receive Him.
