Isn’t it interesting how you start out to do one thing you end up doing something else? Or something in addition to what you first started? Many days that’s way life happens and we need to be flexible to capture the moment.
For instance, today I went for a walk but became a jogger when it started raining. I hadn’t planned on jogging, but I can say it jump-started my day.
In the past month, I’ve had the opportunity to be on some different types of blogs, for which I am grateful. I started out writing to inspire and give hope, but expanded into other areas.
For instance, I had a post on {Wordless Wednesday} at arkansaswomenbloggers.com with some photos about Generosity: Overflow of the Heart. An interesting note–the lower picture is of my daughter when she was a preschooler feeding a cow, and the middle picture is of her toddler son giving me a dandelion. (Awwww…)
A few days later I became a foodie with a recipe at countryatheartrecipes.com, where authors can share a recipe. I make these Fruity Oatmeal Breakfast Bars and keep them in the freezer for a handy breakfast.
At storywritingstudio.com there is an interview about pressing on into God’s grace as a writer. Perseverance is necessary to accomplish anything. If you need some encouragement to press on, check it out.
Each of these opportunities have been unexpected gifts in the journey, teaching me new ways to be flexible. Each blog post took time to develop, but was worth it to stretch and grow into new areas. God’s grace was more than enough in each situation.
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape and will see the gifts of the new opportunities. Look for the blessing and have a thankful heart.

Yay! You’re a runner AND a foodie now. There’s no turning back. Thank you for encouragement to see the blessings in everything.

thanks, Rhonda! “Runner” might be a bit of a stretch…
