Do your remember what you doing a month ago? Anticipation was building for Christmas. Now the holidays are a memory. The Christmas songs are silent. The fall & Christmas decorations are packed away for another ten months.
We’ve moved on to 2013. Following the bustle of the holidays, many are now driven by creating goals or resolutions for the new year. It’s good to have goals, but it’s best to intentionally seek God for what He desires.
This year I’m trying a different approach. I chose one word to inspire me. It is ‘intentional.’ I want to become more intentional about doing the things I value–my relationship with God, my family relationships and friendships, writing, and sharing God’s grace. To accompany this word I have chosen a Bible verse, 2 Corinthians 9:8: “And God is able to make all grace abound to you so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” As I grow in being intentional in seeking the Lord, He will lead me by His grace.
What about you? What is your aim for this year? What will you use to motivate and inspire you?
Seek God for a word to guide you or a verse to anchor you. In Him is hope; He the sovereign God who holds the future.
“The plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.” Psalm 33:11
