Every day reveals more evidence that the season is changing. The warm wind has an occasional touch of coolness in it. The tips the leaves of our maple tree are turning red; within a week they will be bright crimson. Soon they’ll blanket the ground. In the sky, birds begin their flight to warmer climates. Squirrels are active preparing for winter burying nuts in the dirt. Shorter daylight signals the beginning of fall. Some days the season feels like summer, but the weather forecast indicates that temperature change is imminent. There is a different “feel” in the air. Autumn is a season of change.
The changeability of the seasons reflects the rhythms of life. Things go smoothly when we know what to expect for our family and routine. When a change occurs in some part of life—a crisis, a relocation, a weather disaster— it sends ripples of transition throughout every aspect of daily life. We feel off balance for awhile until adapt and persevere.
In the midst of the season of transition, God is unchangeable.
The Lord never changes or varies, like the world or people around us. We can praise God for being steadfast! The Bible verses in the printable show us God’s character.
Because we know this about God’s nature, we can trust Him. We can release our worries to Him.
God is our refuge in the season of change, our anchor when the winds of transition overturn our routines. By looking to the Lord, we gain a better perspective.
Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. Hebrews 6:18-19a NLT
Are you ready for the season of change? If you are facing gale force winds of transition, look to the Lord and His strength as your refuge and hope. He is a trustworthy guide—unchangeable, unshakeable, and unstoppable.
